The University of Waterloo is moving their School of Architecture to Cambridge Ontario. This project is taking a historic building and renovating it for an elite architecture school that could bring new life to Cambridge downtown.
There is an informative QuickTime video of a slide show here.
Why are they moving the School? Probably to get out from under the other divisions at Waterloo and to be able to establish a reputation for excellence (and it sounds like they are one the top architecture schools in Canada.) They are probably short of space and a renovated downtown space would suit architecure as a discipline.
