They have a section just on the video game industry, see,<br \/>\n<a title=\"[object HTMLImageElement]\" href=\"http:\/\/www.npdfunworld.com\/funServlet?nextpage=index.html\">NPD Funworld<\/a>. On the site they have reports that are for sale along with trend information.<br \/>\nThere is also an <a title=\"NPD Canada - Leader in Sales and Marketing Information\" href=\"http:\/\/www.npdcanada.com\/index.html\">NPD Canada<\/a> site though it&#8217;s not clear when you are seeing reports\/information clearly about Canada and when not.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nHere is a quote from the April 13, 2005, Hamilton Spectator article, &#8220;Math whiz at Mac is playing to win; Engineering students can focus on developing computer games&#8221;, by Rob Faulkner,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>It (McMaster&#8217;s new program in Software Engineering and Game Design) also comes as Canada&#8217;s gaming industry booms: Industry-tracker NPD Canada says the Canadian video game market grew 5 per cent from 2003 to 2004, to hit $776 million.<br \/>\nBreak that down, notes NPD Canada director Darrel Ryce, and software sales grew 17 per cent to $451 million in 2004, and the number of games sold grew 31 per cent to 11 million units.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Thanks to Kelly Curwin for this.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From an article in the Hamilton Spectator about a new program at McMaster that I am involved in I came across a reference to the NPD Group which does &#8220;global sales and marketing information&#8221;.
