Convincing a publisher that AI really had written the poems. No, I hadn\u2019t done any editing. Yes, all the poems were generated in 24 hours and translated to Finnish with Google Translate \u2014 within those same 24 hours. Yes, I own the copyright, not OpenAI. Yes, they know and they said yes.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>From Humanist I learned about the Medium post by Jukka Aalho <a href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/swlh\/i-wrote-a-book-with-gpt-3-ai-in-24-hours-and-got-it-published-93cf3c96f120\">I Wrote a Book with GPT-3 AI in 24 Hours<\/a>. Aalho wrote a short book of poetry in 24 hours using GPT-3. I&#8217;ve bought the book and I&#8217;m not impressed by the poems. Perhaps they were better in Finnish. Here is one of the better ones (where the bold was the prompt),<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>why do we need to be happy, really<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>wouldn\u2019t it be enough if<\/strong> we just don\u2019t suffer<\/p>\n<p>but everyone seems to be so very consumed by it<br \/>\nas if it\u2019s the most important thing they can do<br \/>\nis try to get a grip on this<br \/>\nand I guess if that\u2019s what they want<br \/>\nthen I suppose I don\u2019t have to be the one telling them<br \/>\nthat they are mistaken<br \/>\nthat they are making a big mistake<br \/>\nbut how could they know that if no one tells them?<br \/>\nI don\u2019t know<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m just rambling<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m rambling again<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m sorry<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>What&#8217;s more impressive is that he got it published, but that may be because people like me would want to check it out.<\/p>\n<p>Aalhu&#8217;s reflections on how such AIs might change creativity and editing are, however, quite interesting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cHow do we know that you haven\u2019t written the poems you claim were authored by GPT-3?\u201d the publisher asked in one of our calls.
