I kept <a href=\"https:\/\/philosophi.ca\/pmwiki.php\/Main\/CHCI2018\">conference notes here<\/a>. Before the conference proper, we had a day for the Public Engagement network. We heard about Humanities Festivals like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cmu.edu\/dietrich\/humanities-center\/humanities-festival\/index.html\">the Pittsburgh Humanities Festival<\/a>. Another neat example is the <a href=\"https:\/\/dwellinotherfutures.com\/\">Dwell in Other Futures festival<\/a> held in St. Louis.<\/p>\n<p>We also heard about graduate education and community engagement. One example was the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.humanitieswithoutwalls.illinois.edu\/\">Humanities Without Walls<\/a> summer workshop at the Illinois Program for Research in the Humanities.<\/p>\n<p>Finally we talked about the need for ways of assessing public engagement work. How can academics get credit for public engagement?
