That graphs how philosophers influenced each other using information from the Wikipedia. His network uses <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kumu.io\/\">Kumu<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/kumu.io\/GOliveira\/philosophers-web#map-b9Ts7W5r\">interactive\u00a0graph is here<\/a>. The Daily Nous has a blog entry on the map,\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/dailynous.com\/2017\/01\/11\/visualization-influence-history-philosophy\/\">A Visualization of Influence in the History of Philosophy<\/a>. \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Here is some of what the Daily Nous has to say,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>[I]t struck me that we could use Wikipedia\u2019s semantic companion dbpedia to build our little map. And so that is what he did. Here\u2019s the view from a distance: \u201cPhilosopher\u2019s Web,\u201d as he calls it, is an interactive map graphing the \u201cinfluenced\u201d and \u201cinfluenced by\u201d relationships for all philosophers listed in Wikipedia. Each node (blue dot) represents a philosopher, and \u201cthe more influential the philosopher, the thicker and more numerous the lines emanating from him.\u201d Taking a closer look, here is the map slightly zoomed in on Leibniz, whose blue dot has a thin red circle around it: While there have been previous similar projects, Oliveira\u2019s is a bit more advanced. The above image is a bit dense, with the lines almost impossible to follow.
