Susan Kare was the artist who was hired to design fonts and icons for the Mac. She designed the now &#8220;iconic&#8221; icons in a graph paper sketchbook. The story was occaisioned by the publication of a book titled, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kareprints.com\/?p=691\">Susan Kare Icons<\/a> which shows some of the icons she has created over the years.
