I prepared this cheatsheet for the participants, <a id=\"p1695\" href=\"http:\/\/www.theoreti.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/06\/EvalMediaCheckList.pdf\">Evaluating Digital Work (PDF)<\/a>. The short answer is:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li>Communicate Early and Often<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Be clear about expectations starting with the job ad<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>Recognize the Administrative Work<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Don&#8217;t ask them to run a lab or fix your computer without recognition<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>Statement of Purpose<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Have author describe the original reseach<\/li>\n<li>Get documentation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>Have it Reviewed by Experts<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>In the content field, and<\/li>\n<li>Technical experts<\/li>\n<li>Have it reviewed in original form<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am giving a talk today at the MLA organized ADE\/ADFL meeting in Montreal on evaluating new media research work.
