This started as a project for a JestShrift for a friend, but I thought I would document it after hearing <a href=\"http:\/\/tada.mcmaster.ca\/view\/Main\/SHD07#Puting_Humpty_Together_Again_Ott\">Peter Stoicheff talk<\/a> about Otto Ege&#8217;s &#8220;scattered leaves&#8221;. <\/p>\n<p>The reactions I get to these images, especially <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/geoffreyrockwell\/528834529\/\">Cutting Pages<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/geoffreyrockwell\/528746634\">Sawing off the spine<\/a>, is a mixture of horror and nervous laughter. We feel books are sacred and should be cared for, not cut and ripped by saws.
